The top-level HSE trim receives the inline-six as standard equipment. Base S and R-Dynamic models come standard with the turbo four engine, but the R-Dynamic can be optioned with the more powerful inline-six-cylinder engine for $5550. The mid-range R-Dynamic model offers the best value in the Discovery lineup, as it adds fog lamps, LED tail lights, aluminum interior trim, and uniquely styled front and rear bumpers.

There's a new 12.3-inch digital gauge display and a full-color head-up display for the driver a toggle-style gear selector is also new and all Discovery models now come standard with an adjustable air suspension. Land Rover has improved rear-seat comfort by adding additional padding to the second-row chairs. A new grille, tweaked exterior lighting elements, and new wheel designs give the Disco a visual update, and a new R-Dynamic model-complete with glossy black exterior accents-joins the lineup.

Land Rover has given the Discovery a fairly thorough refresh for 2021 that includes two new turbocharged engines-a 296-hp four-cylinder and a 355-hp six-cylinder-as well as a new Pivi Pro infotainment system with an 11.4-inch display.
Try that in your Porsche Cayenne or Volvo XC90. There's even a Wade mode that's set up to improve the Discovery's water-fording capability. The Discovery leverages Land Rover's legendary go-anywhere reputation and backs it up by offering an optional two-speed transfer case and a locking rear differential for maximum overlanding freedom.
A pair of turbocharged gasoline-powered engines are offered-a four-cylinder and a six-cylinder, both turbocharged-and all Discovery models come with an adjustable air suspension and standard all-wheel drive. With room for up to seven people inside its posh, three-row cabin, the Discovery adds an extra layer of practicality over the two-row Grand Cherokee. The moral of the story for you is simple, don't buy a Land Rover product, this is our recommendation after driving them on/off for 20-years.If a Jeep is too conventional-or plain-for your outdoorsy family, consider the 2021 Land Rover Discovery: it provides a much more upscale vibe to accompany its impressive off-road capability. Moral of our story will be to drive these for another 3 years, and trade them in for Ford, Toyota (Lexus) or Jeep. The Dealership has been super responsive and helpful while the work on a DFT (Dealer Facilitated Trade) for the Discovery (but no promises). But, once again I am sitting on two vehicles that have lost a significant amount of their value and I'm back and forth to the service facility. We have serious mixed emotions, the Land Rover products are awesome in the snow, off-road and as daily haulers.

The Range Rover Sport is having the brake issues and software issues and has enjoyed about 8 days in the shop. So, after racking up 7,000 miles and 5 months, the Discovery has been in the shop 18 days, major brake issues (sticking), software issues, and AEB issues. After, NEVER having … any issues with Toyota or Lexus for 4-years, we made the decision to go back to Land Rover and give the company the benefit of the doubt and purchased a 2018 Discovery (new from dealer) and 2018 Range Rover Sport (new from dealer) and both in cash. We've owned Land Rover products for nearly 20 years, and 5 years ago we left for Toyota (we purchased a 4runner and a Lexus SUV) because the frustrations of owning a Land Rover were interrupting our life (the service manager and Land Rover and I used to joke, that I should park the cars at the dealership, because they spent more time in the shop than in my garage).
